The gift of others has unlocked treatments for conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, ALS, degenerative joint disease, heart disease and much more. Without the assistance of human body donation after death, we would not have the medical advancements that we see today.
The gift of body donation also eliminates the cost of cremation, reducing the financial obligation during an already difficult time.

Upon cremation of the deceased, the family will receive the remains in an attractive urn and a Legacy Letter highlighting how the charitable donation has supported medical research.

A tree is planted in a National Forest, in honor of the deceased, approximatley on the one year anniversary of their passing.
What To Expect
1) Contact Spartanburg Cremation
Call us, 24/7, to begin the process. You will be asked a few brief medical questions to confirm the Deceased's eligibility to participate in the Donor Program. You can call Spartanburg Cremation or The Anatomy Foundation direct at (704) 910-6022
2) Donation Process Begins
After receiving a complete Donor Registration Documentation Packet, the Donor is transferred, with care, to The Anatomy Foundation.
3) Completion of Donation
The Donor is matched with programs for medical research, training, education. Following the completion of all programs, your loved one's cremated remains are returned as designated in an attractive urn. (Typical return time is 3 -15 Months)
4) Celebration Of Donation
In addition to the creamated remains, you will receive a Legacy Letter, highlighting the research programs that your donation may have supported. At about the one year anniversary of the Donor's passing, a tree will be planted in their honor in a National Forest.
A donation is conditional upon medical suitability criteria at the time of passing.
This honors the intent of donation and safely serves the needs of the medical community. Most all will qualify.
